Falastin Map Tatreez Sweater – Handmade

Falastin — not printed, not outlined, but stitched.

This design carries the silhouette of historic Palestine, rendered entirely in traditional tatreez. Within its borders rise ancestral motifs — arches, florals, and geometric forms drawn from generations of Palestinian embroidery, layered into the map itself.

Every stitch is meticulously hand-embroidered by Um Osama in Al Baqaa’ Refugee Camp.

Not a production line.
Not a rotating team.
One woman. One needle. One inheritance carried forward.

Her work is slow and deliberate — each thread placed with generational knowledge passed from mother to daughter. In exile, where land was taken but craft endured, this sweater becomes more than apparel. It becomes continuity.

The bold red embroidery stands against deep black fleece — a declaration without apology. A subtle motif at the sleeve cuff serves as a quiet seal, marking the piece as unmistakably Palestinian.

This is not a graphic interpretation of Falastin.
It is Falastin, carried through the hands of one woman who refused to let it disappear.
