How This Piece is Made
How This Piece is Made
This garment is hand-embroidered in traditional Palestinian tatreez by women artisans in Al Baqaa’ Refugee Camp in Jordan.
Through our partnership with Boqaa, each piece is produced slowly and in small quantities, ensuring fair compensation and preserving the integrity of the craft. Tatreez remains a living inheritance — passed from mother to daughter — sustained even in displacement.
Description
Description
Finjan Al Khalil draws from the bold, columned embroidery traditions of Hebron (Al Khalil), where vertical tatreez panels have long framed garments with presence and authority. The structured symmetry reflects protection, continuity, and regional identity — patterns carried across generations of Palestinian women.
Two hand-embroidered panels run vertically along the front of the jacket, creating architectural balance against the deep black fleece. The rich red and green stitching echoes traditional Hebron color palettes — grounded, deliberate, unmistakable.
Each piece is hand-embroidered in traditional Palestinian tatreez by women artisans in Al Baqaa’ Refugee Camp in Jordan, in partnership with Boqaa — an embroidery collective committed to preserving ancestral craft while creating dignified, fairly compensated work for displaced women.
Crafted on a heavyweight black zip-up silhouette, this piece bridges traditional dress structure with modern wear. Produced in limited quantities, every jacket reflects time, lineage, and skilled hands sustaining heritage through exile.
